Mission Statement

The Society of New York Workers’ Compensation Bar Association is celebrating 75 years of service to our members and the legal profession.  We came together in 1945 as a bipartisan professional organization. Our clients are generally claimants, self-insured employers, insurance carriers, TPA’s and others who are affiliated with the New York State Workers’ Compensation system.

The purpose of the organization is to identify issues that affect the administration of the Workers’ Compensation Law and attempt to offer suggestions for the remediation of these issues in a fair and impartial manner. In addition, the Association is involved in educating persons unfamiliar with the complexities of the Workers’ Compensation Law.

For more than 20 years, as part of our charitable endeavors, we have had a relationship with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://www.mskcc.org/.  In two decades we are proud to say that we have donated over $680,000.00 directly for pediatric cancer research and the Aubrey Fund. Honorable mention is due to long time Bar Association member Ken Larkin, and President Edgar Romano who have done yeoman’s work organizing and promoting our Annual Golf Outing over the years which is primarily our means for fundraising for this important cause.
